Charles Herman & Ethel Wonnacott - 1918


Charles Herman Wonnacott, (a descendant of John Wonnacott ,1777, Kilkhampton) was a carpenter and Ethel (née Hope) was a professional stage performer ( Hope Trevelyan) appearing in musical operas such as Madam Butterfly and Mikado. She appeared in Liverpool ,the West End (London) and provincial theatres .

This picture shows a family portrait taken at the end of WW1 with CH in his uniform with his wife Ethel at his side . The children are Ethel (Little Ethel) and Charles (Charley Boy). Nicknamed so as to prevent confusion.
Charley Boy is the late father of Paul R Wonnacott ( webmaster)
