John Wonnacott C.B.E

John Wonnacott is a celebrated artist/painter in the UK. In recognition of his services to art it was announced in June 2000 that Queen Elizabeth II has bestowed the Honour of Commander of the Order of the British Empire upon him in her traditional birthday honours list.

John is well known his seascapes many inspired from his home near Liegh -on - Sea .

One of his recent works was to paint a portrait of John Major, the former Prime Minister. It is traditional that each outgoing Prime Minister has his portrait painted or photographed and hung at the top of the Grand Staircase at 10 Downing Street.

John has paintings hanging in the Tate Gallery and National Portrait Gallery in London and also had an exhibition in New York during the summer of 2000.
John has recently painted a portrait of the Royal Family to honour the 100th Birthday of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother.
